LA PAZ Featuring DOOGIE WHITE: New Dates Announced
April 16, 2009LA PAZ, the reunited Scottish band featuring former RAINBOW/YNGWIE MALMSTEEN singer Doogie White, has scheduled the following U.K. dates:
Jun. 18 - Zicos, Wishaw
Jun. 19 - Renfrew Ferry, Glasgow
Jun. 20 - East Kilbride Artburst Festival
LA PAZ was formed in Lanarkshire, Scotland in the early 1980s by Chic McSherry, Doogie White and Alex Carmichael. The band played live constantly in the mid-'80s, sometimes performing over a hundred gigs in a year throughout Scotland. They also played the world-famous Marquee club in London as well as at some festivals in Milton Keynes. They split in 1987 and Doogie White (vocals) went on to join Ritchie Blackmore's RAINBOW and then YNGWIE MALMSTEEN'S RISING FORCE. In January 2008, Doogie and Chic were asked to play at Rock Radio's "First Birthday Bash." That led to LA PAZ reforming for some fun gigs and to help raise some cash for kids in the town of La Paz, Baja California, Mexico.
